So we've moved in and have started the whole remodel process. Man, are we exhausted!!!! We are not still completely unpacked. I cringe as I am typing this, but our clothes are still in boxes. Please don't tell anyone, I'm embarrassed! Most of the kitchen is unpacked, but unfortunatly I will be repacking the kitchen soon as we have a little (severe) roach infestation. Apparently the people that lived there before didn't believe in good hygiene. So, after battling (foggers, gel, 2 different types of sprays on a daily basis, and traps) them to no avail, we have caved and called an exterminator. He/she will be here sometime this week to work their magic. I have seriously never seen anything this bad in my life, eeekkk! So, besides that nastiness we have made a little progress. Since I didn't have any before pics here are a couple before:
linoleum floors, and wall? No counter space on sink, and ugly cabinet and lights.
Fridge wont fit (Jayden took it upon himself to paint the wall black!)
Outdated cabinets and hardware, old appliances.

Right now there are temporary shades up because the blinds were so stained with nicotine there wasn't any salvaging them.
I am so happy that things are starting to look so good. It's amazing what a little paint and updating light fixtures will do to the look of a room. Here's a few pics of the updates:
Silly boys!
Loving the warm paint color! Anyone wanna donate to the make our floors pretty fund???
New ceiling fan, 56.00 at walmart!
Decided to go with a light blue color for the cabinets (pictured with only one coat). We will be buying new white appliances, tiling the countertops with travertine tile, installing a white acrylic sink, changing all the hardware to bronze, and putting up beadboard in the kitchen. Going for a country look! BTW, the fridge fits now, JR did a little tweaking to the cabinets.
